kusama pyjamas

Submit   gender + art If blogs were mullets, this would be the party at the back where I aggregate anything to do with gender in arts, pop culture and my favorite, queer feminist art. Less a blog than a visual scrapbook/experiment in linking creators and audiences. For the business at the front of sharing art that might interest queer, feminist, womanist, sex radical, genderqueer, transgender, whoever creatives: please click on the pink above.

Titled for Yayoi Kusama, who is the cat's pyjamas.

Awesome GRRRLS Present: ShockFrock at The Step Inn
Tommorow night, Brisbane followers!

Headlining SHOCKFROCK are zombie punk rock trio Legless, who initiated this gig to both support other female talent and to raise funds for recording their latest album, ‘Strange’. Legless are supported by The Pretty Boys, another riot grrl trio who play mohawk destroying music with hard riffs and fast drumming.
Also performing are local burlesque stars Bebe le Buff, Lita Lynx, and Mackenzie Dulcet (newly arrived from Canberra), contemporary dance duo Diva Diva, ukelele folk rock from Absolute Tits, some drag king action from Brisbane’s own Wonder Woman Evelyn Hartogh and a fashion show of local designers which promises to be a riotous romp from the risque to the ridiculous.
Performance artist Tiara the Merch Girl started AWESOME GRRRLS to find like-minded people to bounce off creative energy and ideas. Inspired by feminism, riot grrrls, the Runaways, and Haus of Gaga, Tiara is keen to get more Brisbane women and girls involved in creating more awesome chaos.
